Hauser’s Patio Offers Finely Crafted Replacement Slings

At Hauser's Patio in San Diego, CA, we are dedicated to being your full-service outdoor furniture experts offering everything you need to enjoy your time outside, including repairs and replacement slings. One of the beneficial aspects of living in sunny San Diego is our ability to enjoy the outdoors year-round. Of course, this means patio furniture sees significant use 12 months a year. While you enjoy relaxing on the patio or deck, you may notice the fabric on your sling furniture begins to fade or show signs of wear over time. Fortunately, that doesn't mean you need to invest in an entirely new set of chairs. Whether you're looking for DIY replacement slings or want us to complete the job for you, you'll find everything you need right here for repairs.

Why Replace Furniture Slings?

When researching patio furniture, you've probably read all of the great reviews and benefits of sling furniture, so it may surprise you to learn that slings do need to be replaced eventually. Like everything, the fabric will start to show signs of deterioration. However, since the frames of these pieces are made so solidly, they will remain sturdy pieces of outdoor furniture for many more years. Swapping out ripped slings is an obvious reason to replace the current fabric, but even without rips or tears, there are other reasons to consider it.
  • Brighten Up Furniture – Sometimes, slings will remain strong, but the colors begin to fade. Replacing slings will give the furniture a brand-new look.
  • Match a New Piece – Did you just add something to your outdoor entertaining area you absolutely love, but it doesn't quite fit in with a dining set or other chairs? Pick out the perfect sling color or pattern to bring it all together.
  • Adapt to Current Styles – Certain patterns and solid colors go in and out of style. Chances are your sling furniture will outlast these style changes. But you can keep current by replacing slings for modern looks.

High-Quality Furniture Slings From the Best Brands

Our company got its start manufacturing furniture ourselves, so we understand the importance of choosing the right materials and products carefully and how that translates into a reputable product. Though we're not in the manufacturing business these days, we still hold those values close when deciding which products and replacement parts we offer our customers because not all slings are of the same quality. We specialize in providing two brands of new patio furniture slings.
  • Sunbrella – Sunbrella combines the sturdiness of PVC with the added comfort of acrylic yarn for the best of both worlds. Vinyl mesh or too much PVC tends to be too rigid and uncomfortable, but you don't have to worry about that here. It's resistant to stains, mold, mildew, and fading. Choose from solid colors, patterns, and jacquards.
  • Phifertex – You'll find a variety of different weaves, colors, and constructions with Phifertex. They also avoid the traditional rigidness of full PVC and vinyl slings by combining a blend of PVC with Olefin, and all slings are made here in the U.S. The high-quality products are resistant to stains, tears, and damage caused by UV rays. Some fabrics include Microban, protecting them from bacteria. There is also an option to choose “Wicker Weave” for a simulated look of wicker furniture without the maintenance that comes with it.

What's Involved in Replacing Patio Furniture Slings

If you have pieces in your outdoor seating area that are ripped or faded, our services include replacing all of the fabric attached to the frame. Even if one part seems to be in decent condition, sometimes it's best to replace the other parts too, so they match properly. Doing so ensures all the fabrics have the same vibrant color throughout, and you don't end up coming back with the same piece of furniture you've already tried to fix once. Our sling replacement includes:
  • Dining, Counter, and Bar Height Chairs – Includes one and two-piece slings up to 54" long.
  • Chaise Lounges, Recliners, and Sunloungers – Includes one and two-piece slings up to 92" long.
  • Ottomans and Seat Back Only – Includes a single sling up to 25” x 25”.

How to Measure Furniture Slings & DIY Tips

If you’re ordering replacement slings online for a DIY project, accurate measurement of your furniture’s current slings is critical to getting the right products. Depending on the style of your furniture, you may have a few additional options to choose from, but the general process of measuring for replacement slings is pretty straightforward. Here are a few pro tips to keep in mind when measuring and ordering.
  • Accuracy – The best-looking slings will be the result of accurate measurement. If your slings turn out to be too wide or too long, we can help reduce the length. However, if they are too narrow or too short, there isn't anything to be done to make them wider or longer.
  • Curved Slings – We'll need a sample to follow if your furniture contains a curved sling.
  • Measuring – Start at the outside edges of the fabric just before it goes into the rail and measure to the opposite side.
  • Spline Size – Keep in mind that these are available in 7/32", ¼", and 5/16" in diameter when determining your measurement.
  • Ask for Help – We are a specialty patio furniture retailer and want you to be entirely delighted with your products. If you have questions or concerns about measuring, give us a call or visit us for help.
