Fall is here and this is the perfect season to spend as much time outdoors as possible in the San Diego area. In order to fully enjoy the crips mornings, perfect days and chilly nights, why not set up your outdoor space to optimize your time outdoors? With that in mind, consider adding these fall updates to your backyard.

Outdoor Workspace

If you can work from home, why not choose to do so outside? Use a dining table or even a regular desk (as long as it is protected from the elements) paired with a comfortable outdoor side chair or armchair. A potting station could even function as a stand-up desk, if it is the right height. Set up your workstation so it takes advantage of the best view in your backyard for maximum pleasure while working outside. You may never want to go back indoors and work in a “real” office ever again.

Try this Folding Solid Metal Top Table with Base for a desk. It is durable and easily stands up to the weather. An added bonus is that it folds away when not in use. The size of 30” x 48” is perfect and it even looks like a desk.

Keep Things Warm and Toasty

Fall in San Diego is never predictable. It could be quite balmy one day and downright chilly the next. Especially at night, it is always nice to have a handy source of heat available. There are plenty of options for adding outdoor heat, from a standing propane heater to a full-size fireplace, infrared heater to fire pit. There are models available that use natural gas or propane.

If you have a large, covered area in your outdoor living space, consider adding several Infratech heaters for the best fall updates to your backyard. They are available in a variety of different sizes, wattage and voltage, depending on your needs. Pictured here is the Infratech Single and Double Element Heater. It is sure to provide plenty of warmth on a cold night, especially so if you use more than one.

Swing Your Worries Away

There are few things better than sitting outside and enjoying the perfect fall afternoon. While you could choose nearly any type of outdoor seat, we suggest hanging a swing. Outdoor swings are not just reserved for summer; in fact, they can be piled with plenty of fluffy outdoor throw pillows and soft blankets for the perfect, cozy seat.

Tip: fall updates to your backyard should include keeping plenty of warm, woven throws slung over chairs and folded into baskets so they are handy when needed.

This swing by Seaside Casual is an ideal place to gently sway under a harvest moon while enjoying the season. It can be securely hung under the eaves of your back porch, on a front porch or, as shown, from a pergola.

Be sure to embrace the season while it lasts by adding these fall updates to your backyard.
